Unit 18 Cinematography

  The effects used in our final film were effects like dip to black, dip to white. we also used audio effects such as constant power and constant gain we used visual editing like when we showed Ellis's characters flashback or when he is in the bathroom and we change the scene to a red colour every time he looks up. We filmed our footage with cinematic quality equipment such as the DLSR Camera, and the iPhone 13, using these allowed us to get clear interesting shots that were shot at 24fps at HD quality. We purposely shot in areas that had loud lighting and good acoustics so that the video and audio quality was professional and up to standards of similar products; this proved to be difficult in some scenes. For example, when shooting the first scene of the film some of the shots we're too bright from the sun.   This clip is from scene 2 where the character wakes up from his coma, In this video we have the main character getting his friend out of the house,  we use an over the shoulder shot to connote power and to show he is more powerful than his friend and also to intensify the film as you can't see the friend so the viewers don't know what's fully happening. Lighting is used in and outside of the house in this scene we use the sun on the side of the friend and the side of the main character is dark this contrast the behaviours of each character, both characters connote to light and dark and this can be seen with the lighting we use in this scene as Toby's character is showered in sun light and Ellis's character is shrouded in darkness the same can be said with the outfits as well Ellis's character is wearing a is a black hoodie and Toby's character wearing a white sweatshirt.   PURPOSE:   The purpose of our short film is to entertain our target audience and promote our brand and our skills as film makers. We are hoping to create an entertaining dark comedy that our audience can enjoy and laugh at . Products like The Seven Deadly Sins and The Sins short film i nspired us to create a product that used the same charac ter traits as the characters seen in them products. We are hoping to prove Doncaster UTC to be a college that houses students with great and creative ideas , and we are hoping our product could gain traction on websites such as Vi meo and YouTube .
